Protect Evanston’s Taxpayers — Vote No on 605 Davis

Evanston City Council will decide soon whether to approve a 29-story, taxpayer-subsidized luxury rental tower at 605 Davis Street.

The project would receive a 30-year, $40 million property-tax abatement—a cost ultimately borne by our residents and our vulnerable school districts.

Even after a token two-story “reduction,” the building remains 3.5 times taller than by-right zoning allows and would deliver mostly small, high-rent apartments rather than attainable family housing.

Evanston deserves responsible development that respects zoning, funds public services, and maintains our community’s livability.

Use our form to email City Council now and urge them to reject or return this proposal.
