We are proud to welcome you to the official website of the Evanston Action Coalition, a strictly nonpartisan, citizen-led organization working to strengthen civic engagement, increase government transparency, and ensure that local policy decisions reflect the informed will of Evanston residents.
Our coalition was founded by neighbors from across all wards of Evanston—homeowners, renters, business owners, and lifelong community members—united by a common goal: to build a stronger, more accountable local government that puts residents first.
We advocate for:
Transparent, responsive city leadership
Responsible urban planning and zoning policy
The independence of Evanston’s boards and commissions
The thoughtful vetting of candidates and appointments to public office
Our formation was driven in part by growing concern over the Envision Evanston 2045 planning process and the lack of meaningful public input on decisions that will shape our city for generations.
We believe the best way to move Evanston forward is by empowering residents—through education, outreach, and action—to engage constructively with the policies and leaders that affect our daily lives.
